Lucy Green

MBACP
Lucy Green - Psychodynamic Therapist

I am a BACP-registered psychodynamic therapist working in-person with individuals on an open-ended basis.

How I work

My starting point with all clients is compassion. Whatever your current circumstances or life experiences, I offer a supportive and inclusive space where you can speak your mind freely, without fear of judgement.

My aim as a therapist is to provide a collaborative space where you can get to know and understand yourself better, on a deeper level. I will help you to notice patterns of behaviour, or recurrent thoughts and feelings, which may be holding you back in life. Together we will explore the unconscious beliefs or anxieties which may lie behind these.

Psychodynamic therapy can help you to make links between what is happening in your life currently, and your past experiences. This will usually involve thinking about your early childhood experiences and past relationships. It can also involve us examining your dreams and exploring what they might mean for you.

Specialist areas

I work with individuals on a broad range of issues but have a special interest in supporting people dealing with grief, loss and bereavement. Grief is not always experienced solely in relation to a death; each chapter of life can bring about endings or separations which may lead to feelings of grief. I can support you as you go through these changes and help you to find a way forward in which you can integrate these experiences into your sense of self.

Qualifications

I hold a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling in the Community from The Manor House Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling. I have previously worked as a volunteer for Cruse Bereavement Support, facilitating group sessions to help individuals make sense of their loss. I also volunteer as a table host for Creating Conversations, a local Community Interest Company (CIC) in Waltham Forest, which facilitates spaces for open conversations around death, dying and grief.

Rates

My standard fee is £90 per session.

You can find out more about me at lucygreentherapy.com or contact me directly at [email protected]. I offer a free, 15-minute initial phone call to see if we feel we could work together.
