Sinitha Ratnaselvam - Therapist & Counsellor

Hello, my name is Sinitha (she/her)

I am a BACP registered Integrative counsellor using a Relational framework to work with you. It is through the rapport that we form, from a trusting and non-judgemental outlook, that the therapeutic journey is facilitated. My approach is warm and friendly, following your lead and pace with what you want to process and work through.

As an Integrative counsellor, I will draw on a number of therapeutic approaches (eg. CBT, Psychodynamic) based on your specific needs and wants. I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and I will empathise with your experiences and thoughts in a space that is held only for you. This will enable us to collaboratively create goals for you to reach. Whether you are seeking therapy to work through current life challenges, explore past experiences or reconnect with yourself, I can help by reflecting back my interpretations or by gently offering different perspectives. I will work with you to explore feelings, thoughts and behavioural patterns to raise self-awareness and to deepen the relationship with yourself.

What I can help you with:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Body image
  • Cultural issues
  • Grief and loss
  • Relationships
  • Self-esteem and identity
  • Stress
  • Women’s issues
  • Work related issues/redundancy

I work with adults, in-person and online. I do not offer couples counselling.

I am also an NHS Optometrist and have been qualified for over eleven years. This career has honed my communication and empathy skills, and has encouraged my desire to help the community more.
